I build practical desktop tools with Python — local databases, PDF generation, and workflows that stay on your machine. My work focuses on software that sole traders and small operators can actually use day to day.

invoiceNow

invoiceNow is a free, open-source desktop invoicing application for Australian sole traders. It helps you create tax invoices, keep contact and job records, export PDF invoices, and prepare figures for GST/BAS (Australian financial year, ABN, and related sole-trader workflows).

The app runs entirely on your computer (Windows or Linux). Invoice data lives in a local SQLite database on your machine. There is no invoiceNow backend server and no cloud account for the app itself.

Email and Gmail

You can email an invoice PDF from the app in one of three ways you choose in Settings:

  • your desktop mail program (for example Thunderbird), or
  • your own Gmail account (Google OAuth), or
  • your own Outlook / Microsoft account (Microsoft OAuth).

When you connect Gmail, invoiceNow requests only the Google permissions it needs to identify your account and to send messages you have composed and explicitly approved. OAuth tokens stay on your device. Email is never sent automatically — only after you confirm a preview in the app.

Google user data is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties. Full details are in the privacy policy.
